Why Attend? -Because Orlando is a great place to be in February! The Annual Meeting is a very important function for:

For five days in one great location, SRM members and the public can attend symposiums, forums, workshops, and observe scientific and technical presentations on the stewardship of rangeland resources.
The theme of the meeting is "From Dusty Trails to Waning Wetlands". The Plenary Session will kick off the meeting with noted speaker Dr. Reed Noss, author of Forgotten Grasslands of the South and Professor of Biology at the University of Central Florida, Dr. Noss will be discussing the history of grasslands in the south. Dr. Thad Box, former Dean of Utah State University's College of Natural Resources will discuss the history of drought and how his experiences have changed the way he thinks and how drought has shaped the Society. Dr. Donald Wilhite, Professor of Applied Climate Science at University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Founding Director of the National Drought Mitigation Center will discuss the way forward in how we deal with and manage for drought on our rangelands.  

 

Throughout the meeting we will have a large diversity of technical sessions, workshops and symposia covering a range of topics!

2014 SRM AM Room & Ride Share

Student Chapter Display Contest 
This is for all student chapters who want to participate in the Student Chapter Display Contest at this year's SRM national conference in Florida. Be sure to submit an application and registration as an exhibitor to get your booth space. If you plan on participating please have a representative from your student chapter email Rory O'Connor (ro.c.oconnor@gmail.com) or Marji Patz (marji.patz@wy.usda.gov) to let them get a head count.

SRM 2014 Annual Meeting: Call for Volunteers
 

The 2014 Annual Meeting Planning Committee is in of need volunteers for the Society for Range Management - 67th Annual International Meeting, Technical Training & Trade Show in Orlando, FL, Feb. 8-13, 2014. Please consider helping us when you have free time. We need Volunteers for several areas of the meeting, including:

  • Registration helpers, especially in the early days of the meeting. Help will be needed any time the registration desk is open. Any time you can help will be appreciated.
  • Entrance controllers for special sessions with registered attendance. Volunteers will work a one hour time slot 30 minutes before and after the start of the session.

No special requirements are required of Volunteers; we just need your time. Please email flsrm@embarqmail.com with your days/times of availability. Thank you for volunteering!

CPRM EXAM

Are you planning on sitting for the CPRM Exam at the 2014 Annual Meeting in Orlando? If so, you must contact Vicky Trujillo at SRM Headquarters to get your name on the list. You must also have a paid application on file by no later than Jan. 24, 2014.
