Ecological Site Workshops at the Annual Meeting
SRM is hosting three Ecological Site Description (ESD) workshops at the Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City. For complete workshop agendas click here. There are limited seats available, so register today!
The workshop on Saturday, February 2nd is intended for ESD developers and will showcase interagency and interdisciplinary ESD development efforts from across the country. The Saturday workshop is worth 8 CEUs. The ESD users workshop consists of four-hour sessions each day from February 4th-7th, and will focus on standards, concepts, data management, and field use for ESD users. The four-day users workshop is worth 16 CEUs. The final workshop, on Thursday, February 7th, is intended for students and will focus on ecological site concepts, description and applications. The student workshop can be taken for 1 hour of college credit.
Pre-registration is required for each of these workshops, and can be completed using the SRM registration form. See you in Oklahoma!

Pedoderm and Pattern Class Workshop
Feb. 20th & 21st (8:00-5:00)
SRM CEU Credits: 8
Location: Garcia Building, Jornada Experimental Range (JER) Ranch Headquarters. Vans will be provided to shuttle participants between Wooton Hall, NMSU Campus and the Jornada Experimental Range.
Description: This two-day training will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Pedoderm and Pattern Classes (PPC) and their uses for inventory, assessment, ecological site development and management decision making. Participants will be trained to apply PPCs in a consistent and repeatable fashion. Day one includes indoor (Garcia Building JER Ranch Headquarters) and outdoor (Jornada Experimental Range), hands-on instruction in assigning PPCs using the Field Guide to Pedoderm and Pattern Classes. Day two includes further calibration followed by a 'methods test.' The methods test will be used to ensure consistency of the PPC method. The workshop is suitable for professionals with backgrounds in a variety natural resources and ecology fields. Lunch will be provided.
Materials: Please bring your own water, hat, sunscreen and other field equipment. Pencils, clipboards, data forms, and a Field Guide to Pedoderm and Pattern Classes will be provided.

2013 SRM Endowment Fund Silent Auction
The Endowment Fund Development Committee requests your participation in the 2013 Silent Auction! At the 2012 Silent Auction in Spokane, over $10,000 was raised for the Endowment Fund by auctioning 120 items. All proceeds from the Silent Auction each year are added to the Endowment Fund. We are looking forward another successful Silent Auction Feb. 3-5 in Oklahoma City.

The 2013 SRM Job Fair is requesting assistance of two volunteer university students for customer service and administration of the job fair. The volunteer must be a dynamic, enthusiastic and outgoing person with a great sense service to the students and staff at the job fair. The purpose of the volunteers is to increase the involvement of students in the activities of the job fair and gain organizational and administrative skills as well.
