Greetings!
What an amazing first two (almost) weeks we have had in Israel. First the Open, Juniors and Youth athletes participated in ISRAEL CONNECT program and many of our Masters athletes participated in the inaugural Discover Israel program. Both groups participated in our first Phyllis Magerman B'nai Mitzvah Ceremony which you can read about in this great Article.Last Thursday, we all experienced the Magic of the Maccabiah through at the Opening Ceremony and then, the Games began. The New York Times did a great job describing the diversity of the Games with this article. With an early start on the 17th, the Rugby 7's tournament and Team USA picked up the first of the two medals they have their site set on. All of our Teams have started their competitions and some of our sports, including most of the Martial Arts will begin this week. We are working with the organizers of the Games to make sure you are able to access results to all competitions in 'real time.' In the meantime, make sure to follow us on as many of our coaches are communicating scores in this way and tagging #maccabiusa so that you can see how we are doing.
Sincerely,
Your Friends at Maccabi USA |
