Greetings!
Team USA has had a fabulous week so far - Tel Aviv, a beach party, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Masada, and tonight, the newly re-named Phyllis Magerman B'nai Mitzvah Ceremony. It is our sincere hope that all of our athletes have had a great experience connecting with their culture, heritage and Jewish Identity. Tonight was a personal highlight for me, and I hope for you too.
Phyllis Magerman was a wonderful woman who loved our ISRAEL CONNECT program, and in particularly, our B'nai Mitzvah program. I am so proud to have been a part of, along with all of our athletes, for the first Phyllis Magerman B'nai Mitzvah Ceremony. This project was a labor of love for a woman who was a teenage friend, who embraced our organization and made a permanent mark on this organization, I would like to thank Maccabi USA Marketing Director, Sara Feinstein, for the wonderful job she did with this evening's program.
To all of our athletes have fun and enjoy the upcoming Opening Ceremony and i wish you all the best of luck with your upcoming competitions. Please remember, that although you came here to compete, some of the greatest memories you will take with you are the connections you make. Connections with your teammates, other athletes from around the world, your culture, heritage and Jewish Identity.
Sincerely, Bob Spivak, Co-chair, ISRAEL CONNECT Program Chairman, Maccabi USA |
