Winter Storm Plans
Like many of you, we are already taking precautions for the winter weather. I wanted to bring you up to date on our plans and also offer some important information on how to prepare for the storm and what to do if you loose power. To ensure the safety of our staff, our offices will be closed tomorrow. If you need to reach us, please email is at info@jjruddyinsurance.com. We will monitor the email throughout the day and get back to you as soon as possible. If possible, please include a cell phone number in your email. If you do not have access to email, please leave a voice mail at our main office 781-396-4900. I have included some storm prep tips in the articles below as well as what to do in the event of a power outage. Take the 30 seconds to read it. I see these storm prep articles all the time and I always get something out of it. Above all, we want everyone to be safe. Here is my storm tip short list: 1. Make sure that vents for gas heat systems and exterior dryer vents are clear of snow to prevent carbon monoxide from building up in your home. Make sure the batteries in your CO detectors have been replaced . 2. Take note of the location of the closest hydrant on your street and dig it out when you are out shoveling. 3. Do not attempt to remove downed power lines from your home or property. Call 911. 4. Check on your elderly neighbors. Help clear a path to their door in case there is an emergency. Thank you for taking the time to review the storm information. Stay safe.
