Too Close to Home

The events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing will forever be a part of all our lives. Most of us can make some sort of connection to that day because those that fell victim to that tragedy are families in our communities and not just someone you read about in the paper or hear about on CNN. Not too long ago my dad was at a Bruins game and happened to meet a young man, Marc Fucarile, who lost his leg that day. As my dad shared the story with me you could tell he was moved by it. Oddly enough, Marc has just moved to Reading, the same town I live in, and enrolled his son at the same school as my kids. Although neither one of us knew Marc, the overlapping story line made us realize that bad things can happen close to home. This holiday season as we rush around buying gifts and visiting with friends and family, take a moment to remember those that still need help. Please join our family in an effort to help those close to home. After all, giving is what the holidays are all about. So click, give, and pass it along. Thank you for supporting Marc and his family.
