Red Sox - J.J. Ruddy Giveaway
What do the Boston Red Sox and John J. Ruddy have in common? Ok...nothing. But we have to give away some cash so why not have some fun with it.
We are fast approaching the 104th anniversary of J.J. Ruddy Insurance on November 5th. If you are doing the math, John Ruddy didn't visit Fenway Park until two years after he founded his company. To celebrate our 104 years and what will hopefully be a Red Sox World Series title we are giving away $104 to two lucky winners.
There are two ways to win....
1. Easy, right?
2.
Forward this email to someone that you know.
Two winners will be randomly selected - a Facebook follower and anyone that forwards this email to a friend, co-worker or family member. Winners will be selected on November 5th.
Good luck and GO SOX!

Regards,

Edward P. Hackett, CIC CRM
Vice-President

Trampolines Make Insurers Bounce
Trampolines. Kids love them, insurance companies hate them. So what's the big deal anyway? Take a look at the numbers and the nature of the injuries...
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission cites nearly 92,000 emergency room visits each year for trampoline-related accidents. More than 75,000 of those injuries involved children under age 15 - prompting The American Academy of Pediatrics to advise against the use of trampolines because of the inherent danger.
Most injuries that occur on trampolines involve colliding with another person on the trampoline, landing improperly while doing jumps or stunts, or falling or jumping off the trampoline.
There are varying degrees of injury. Everything from alligator tears to major injuries. In a recent case in Massachusetts a man was jumping from a trampoline into an adjacent pool. He landed head first and was paralyzed from the neck down.
What happens if you have a trampoline? If you apply for homeowners coverage, you won't get it. And if the insurance company inspects your property or you have a claim - your coverage will be cancelled.
What do we recommend? From a risk perspective, the best advice we can give is to avoid trampolines altogether. It may not fly well with the kids, but at least they will be safe.
