Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries just released this video explaining why Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries is still necessary today.
You'll see that not only do LGBTQ leaders still need support in the church, but even more importantly - that these leaders and their ministries have vital gifts to offer the church.

Prayers this week
|
Trusting in the promise that God hears us, we pray for those in need and in thanksgiving for God's awesomeness-sometimes with sighs too deep for words and sometimes with an explosive "Yes!" to God's work in our midst. Please include the following in your prayers this week:
- Triune God, give strength to the church in every land and especially in Malawi and Zambia as they feed the hungry and announce the good news of Jesus Christ.
- This Memorial Day remember in your prayers the generations past and present that have served our country in the armed forces and especially those who have given their lives in that service. We remember those who died this week in Afghanistan: Dwayne W. Flores, 22; Eugene M. Aguon, 23; Trenton L. Rhea, 33; Jeffrey C. Baker, 29; Mitchell Kirk Daehling, 24; William Joseph Gilbert, 24. Pray for comfort and peace for their families and friends, and healing for those wounded.
- Pray for the people of Moore, Oklahoma, as they pick of the pieces of life after the tornado that destroyed their community. Pray for those who lost loved ones in the wake of the tornado. Pray for all those who step up now to help with removal of debris and as rebuilding begins.
- Pray for continued healing and renewed strength for Aylaina, David, Jon, Don, Margaret, Herb, Geri, David, and Herb; for comfort and strength for Scot, Juana, and Ray whose cancers progress.
- Pray with joy for the seminary graduates across the country and especially at PLTS as they complete their studies and focus now on new ventures in ministry, both ordained and non-ordained avenues.
- Pray for the spring graduates of colleges and universities everywhere, and especially our ELCA schools, that, despite the still sluggish economy, they will be able to start careers as the leaders of tomorrow.
- Pray for the Chapel community as we continue to discern God's call to be people of God at work in the world.
