Third Sunday in Lent

This Sunday we reflect on the well-known story of "The Prodigal Son". We tend to focus on the lavish welcome offered to and accepted by the younger son, but the story of his restoration is framed by the story of the "loss" of his elder brother.

Ordination of Nels Flesher


You are invited to witness and celebrate as Nels Benjamin Flesher is ordained by the church to the ministry of Word and Sacrament. 

 Nels was our PLTS teaching parish student two years ago.  We're delighted that he will be ordained!

A Place at the Table


This Friday, March 1, the documentary A Place at the Table will open in theaters nationwide. The film, from the producers of An Inconvenient Truth and Food, Inc., focuses on hunger in America.


A hunger-free world is within reach. God is at work in our midst, preparing an abundant table where all are welcome.

Help. Thanks. Wow. These are the essential prayers. As you pray these prayers each day, please include these friends and members of the Chapel:

 
Pray for the family and friends of The Reverend Paul Brenner who passed away last Friday. 
 
Pray for the Chapel community as we work together for justice in our community and in the world

  

Pray for healing   

  • For those facing surgery: for Pepe's father, Jose, who will have heart surgery again soon, and those recovering from surgery or illness: Don, Frank, Joel, and Betty 
  • For those living with and fighting cancer: for Pepe's mom, Juana; Kristen's mom, Geri; Annika's friend, Ian; David Johnson; Ray Stumpf
  • In relationships, especially where those relationships are challenged by  issues of mental health or by the day-to-day struggles of life 

In thanksgiving for our new chef Erika Ikemoto who has been cooking for our campus ministry

 

In thanksgiving for the ministry of prayer at the Chapel and for all who are involved


For safe travel for Pr. Jeff and Pepe as they travel to be with Pepe's family in Mexico

  

For those venturing into new vocations, that their gifts may be used for the glory of God  

Pray that God will guide the bishops of the ELCA synods as they gather in Chicago for their spring Conference of Bishops, Thursday, Feb 28, through Tuesday, March 5.

 

Pray for the Roman Catholic Church and for Pope Benedict XVI in these last days of his papacy. Pray for discernment and the Holy Spirit's guiding as a new papal leader is sought.
