First Sunday after Epiphany
January 2013

This Sunday Jesus begins his public ministry by proclaiming release (aphesis) to captives and the oppressed. He announces that today -- in his hearers' presence -- the prophecy of Isaiah has been fulfilled, and the year of the Lord's favor has come.

Prayers this week

In all things pray!  Please remember these petitions.

Give thanks as the ELCA celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2013 and pray that the church will continue to help where it is needed in the world
