Festival of All Saints
November 2012

This Sunday is the end of Day-Light Savings -- set back your clocks -- and don't miss church!

This Sunday we celebrate The Festival of All Saints.  Bring framed pictures of loved ones you remember for the altar.

Also, as we continue to work our way through the Old Testament, we read from 1 Kings.  And while ancient near eastern histories were often written by elites and for elites, we read here about a disenfranchised prophet and a foreign widow in the midst of national calamity.

After church, the Fair Trade Mercado will be open for your purchases of chocolate, coffee, and other delights!

Prayers this week

In all things pray!  Please remember these petitions in your daily prayers.

Pray for all those suffering the effects of Hurricane Sandy, for comfort to the afflicted and strength to those who come to their aid.

For new friends who come through the doors at the Chapel that they may find what they are seeking

For all who grieve, Emery Roe and family, Carmen Aiken and family, Flora Schultz and family, Bob Wohlsen and family, members of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Berkeley

For those undergoing cancer treatment, Kirsten and Geri, and those recovering strength; for those who enter hospice care, especially Ray

For open conversations around faith issues in the groups engaging "animate" and for Cole, Eva, Gwen, and Helen, our confirmation students and their classmates, as they explore their faith

For a fair election where all are able to exercise their right to vote
