Dear Saint Arnold Army,
As the mercury dips from 100° to 90°, you can imagine yourself in Bavaria, beer stein in hand, ready for your celebration of autumn. Perhaps wearing a Texans jersey. The beer of choice: Oktoberfest!
This year, our fall seasonal has a brand new look, and we're going to celebrate by throwing someone - it could be you! - an Oktoberfest party at the brewery. Here's how to enter our contest:
Find one of our special Oktoberfest displays in a store around town. Take your photo with your face in the face-in-hole stand up, and email it to oktoberfest@saintarnold.com. We'll choose one lucky winner to join us at the brewery for a private Oktoberfest party with up to 50 people! Here are a few places you can find our Oktoberfest displays and enter the contest: - Spec's - Smith St.
- Spec's - Westheimer & Montrose
- Spec's - Bissonet
- HEB - Sienna Plantation, Missouri City
- HEB - Hwy 6 & Hwy 90, Sugar Land
- HEB - Mason Rd. & 290, Fairfield
- HEB - Fry Rd. & Tuckerton, Cypress
If you're a Summer Pils lover and lamenting its annual departure (as you let us know every year via email), remember that 5 O'Clock Pils and Fancy Lawnmower are year round beers.

Our First Ever Pub Crawl in North Heights
Rescheduled: Now on Saturday, August 27
Due to all of this crazy rain and the fact that our stops on this Pub Crawl are primarily outdoor bars, we're rescheduling our first Pub Crawl in North Heights. The good news is you'll only have to wait an extra week!
We'll now be Pub Crawling on Saturday, August 27, and it'll be a day of several firsts. For starters, we'll be in a brand new location we're calling North Heights - think about the bars along 19th and 20th St.

We'll be utilizing a group start for this crawl. You'll get your ticket at the first stop anytime between 5:00 - 6:00 PM. From there, you'll head to the other stops in any order and meet up at the final stop at 9:00. There, you'll get your reward for finishing the Pub Crawl - the aforementioned pint glass. Here's the layout:
Everyone will start at the first stop at 5:00 PM:

Boiler Room Bonanza at Saint Arnold Wednesday, August 31 - 6:00 - 9:00 PM
A few months ago, we kicked off the summer with a special variation of our pleasantly tart Boiler Room Berliner Weisse. That version, with raspberry and brettanomyces added, was a big hit. To get you through the summer, our brewers have been hard at work crafting even more thirst-quenching iterations. In a couple of weeks, you can enjoy them all at Boiler Room Bonanza.
On Wednesday, August 31, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM, we'll be tapping all of the following Boiler Room creations - several of them for the very first time. Along with beer, your admission includes our special Boiler Room glass and a hot Slow Dough pretzel.
- Boiler Room (the original version)
- Grain Room: Boiler Room with Brettanomyces
- Boiler Room Brett Raspberry
- Boiler Room aged in Chardonnay Barrels
- Boiler Room aged in Chardonnay Barrels with Peaches and Brettanomyces
- Berry Medilow: Boiler Room aged in Chardonnay Barrels with Cherry, Raspberry, Blackberry and Brettanomyces
- Boiler Room Gose
Our Executive Chef Ryan Savoie has created several special syrups for the evening too: - Blueberry Clove
- Peach Habanero
- Raspberry
- Cherry Kaffir Lime

That's seven variations of Boiler Room, plus syrups! With our house made syrups, you can get fancy and create your own concoctions. Of course, you are also welcome to enjoy our other regular beers on tap.
You get all of the above (beers, Boiler Room Glass and pretzel) for $25 plus tax. Not included but available for the evening will be a limited food menu from our kitchen crew.

Elissa IPA: New Look, Same Great Cause
Cascade hops are arguably what began the craft brewing movement. The citrus, grapefruit flavor and aroma from this hop were a radical departure from the more restrained floral notes hops were known for up to till then. Elissa IPA is brewed exclusively with Cascades, and along with its balanced malt profile, is a throwback to the early days of craft brewing. And it's still delicious. Elissa IPA is getting a new look but the recipe and, even more importantly, the cause remain the same. That cause is ELISSA, the Tall Ship of Texas. ELISSA is a three-masted, iron-hulled sailing ship built in 1877 and currently moored in Galveston. Ships like her were the kind used to transport early IPAs to India. Since we debuted Elissa IPA in 2004, a portion of the proceeds have gone to the Galveston Historical Foundation to keep ELISSA sailing. Thanks to Elissa IPA lovers like you, we've donated over $100,000 to date.
Enjoy a new look Elissa (the beer) and visit ELISSA (the ship) sometime soon!
