Saint Arnold Army Newsletter
Dear Saint Arnold's Army:

Last week, as we talked about our new public tour times (1:00 and 3:00 PM on weekdays), we noted that if you want to attend the downstairs portion of the tour, "open toe shoes" are required. Whoops! Of course, we meant closed toe shoes are required. Please keep this in mind as flip flop weather hits Houston. This does not apply to Saturdays (when we are not in production).

5 O'Clock Pils Debuts on Monday, April 11

We believe the greatest beers are the ones that achieve their goal with the simplest recipes. 5 O'Clock Pils is all about its two ingredients: pils malt and Saaz hops. This is the entire basis of the original Bohemian Pils style.

The pils malt is light yet with a pleasant bready character, emphasized by the decoction mash wherein a portion of the mash is removed, boiled and added back. Saaz hops, the only hop that has never been hybridized dating back to when it was first cultivated from a wild plant around 1,000 years ago, gives a pleasant earthy spiciness.

The final, unfiltered beer has a light maltiness, a big refreshing bitter and wonderful, delicate hop flavor and aroma. This is the beer we enjoy every year in the Czech Republic when doing our Saaz hop selection. Only, we've added even more hops. It is a beer that can be enjoyed everyday of the year. You will never tire of it.

Beginning Monday, you can find 5 O'Clock Pils in six packs of 12 oz cans (no bottles), as well as on draft. It is a year round release. Let us know how you're enjoying yours by using #ItsAlwaysTime on Instagram and Twitter.

29th Annual Houston Art Car Parade

Saturday, April 9

We pretty much love everything about art cars. We drive them around town. We've got a beer named Art Car IPA. And every year, we love being a part of the Houston Art Car Parade. This will be the 16th year we've had our art cars in it.

If you live in Houston and have never been to the Art Car Parade, just trust us here. It's something everyone should experience.

This year's Art Car Parade has a brand new route, so make sure you look at the map before you head out there. The cars (and other crazy vehicular concoctions) will be rolling along Smith St. from Pease to Walker.

We suggest you get out there early to see the cars up close and chat with the artists. The parade starts at 2:00 PM. You can also support the Art Car Parade by getting tickets to the VIPit Party where you'll enjoy food and beer starting at noon.

We'll have a few art cars in the Parade including our 1959 Cadillac convertible driven by our owner/founder Brock Wagner. Be sure to wave to him!

Celebrate the Home Opener
at Jackson Street BBQ (and the Ballpark!)

Monday, April 11 - 5:00 - 7:00 PM

Baseball season has officially begun, and the home team returns to Houston on Monday. We'll be ready with beer for wherever you watch the game. If you're catching the home opener in person, a great place to start is Jackson Street BBQ, right next to the ballpark.

On Monday, we'll be there with beer on tap and in cans, along with live music from Houston artist Hayden Jones starting at 5:00.

Of course, once you get to the game, you can enjoy Saint Arnold there too. We have several taps throughout the ballpark, in addition to our big Saint Arnold bar in left field (behind the Crawford Boxes). You really don't even need to get out of your seat to enjoy our beer - 16 oz cans of Fancy Lawnmower and Santo are available in the hawker trays.

Oh, one more thing... Go 'Stros!
