Bishop's Barrel No. 13
Coming Monday, March 21
Monday is BB13 Day! The newest release in our small batch, barrel aged series is a Bourbon Barrel version of a previous special release, Divine Reserve No. 13, our big, drinkable Belgian Quadrupel. We loved DR13, and with BB13, we figured a little bourbon couldn't hurt.
Bishop's Barrel No. 13 pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights that supports a thin, khaki colored head that dissipates slowly. The high alcohol (12% ABV) shows itself visually with legs that stick to the glass when swirled. The aroma brings forth a bouquet of bourbon, vanilla and Belgian yeast characteristics. As it warms, aromas similar to flan and bananas foster emerge, leading brewers Stephen and Aaron to describe it as "liquid dessert."
The flavor is sweet throughout without being cloying - a palate of sweet, sticky toffee with a nice dark fruit/cherry parfait accompaniment. The barrel shows itself with bourbon and subtle chocolate notes with a soft tannic finish. It's a full bodied beer with a soft CO2 bite and alcohol that warms the throat without being aggressive.

Custom Bishop's Barrel Crates at Hay Merchant
Monday, March 21
Special beer releases are always big events at Hay Merchant, but our friend and owner Kevin Floyd has been planning this one for nearly four years.
He's saved six of each Bishop's Barrel beers for the past three and a half years (Bishop's Barrel No. 1 was released in October 2012), and created six complete 12 packs of BB1 - BB12. This set comes in a custom beer crate branded with both our logo and the Hay Merchant logo. All six crates have been signed by Kevin, our owner/founder Brock Wagner and our brewer/wood cellar manager Aaron Inkrott.
Each person that orders a BB13 at Hay Merchant on Monday will be given a ticket. At 7:00 PM, Kevin will draw tickets - each person with a ticket drawn will have the opportunity to purchase one of the custom beer crates with all 12 beers for $150. Winners do not have to be present to win.

Pub Night at Saint Arnold

Geeks Who Drink Trivia is back! Gather your geekiest friends, and join us at Pub Night tomorrow evening. Trivia begins at 7:00 PM, and Saint Arnold riches await the teams with the largest brains.
As we do at every Pub Night, we'll also be tapping a few special release beers. You'll have another chance to enjoy our recently released Adambier, Divine Reserve No. 16, on draft, and we'll be tapping a special cask of Elissa IPA with grapefruit peel and grapefruit juice (code named Grapefruit Technique). A variety of Divine Reserve and Bishop's Barrel releases will also be available in bottles.
If you want to make a night of it and enjoy dinner here too, Chef Ryan will be doing his thing in the kitchen. In addition to Burgers, Brats and Crawfish Rolls, our kitchen crew will be preparing Blackened Chicken Wings with Remoulade and Tacos a la Plancha - skirt steak, onion and cilantro, queso fresco, lime and corn tortillas.

Investors Pub Pass Now Available on Select Saturdays
 If you've visited our brewery on a Saturday, you know that we attract quite the crowd. The more, the merrier, we say, but we know some folks would like to be able to reserve space ahead of time or hang out in a smaller setting. Thus, we're now offering an Investors Pub Pass on select Saturdays for anyone who wishes to enjoy our beer in a bit more intimate atmosphere.
Our Investors Pub is a smaller, English Pub-style room behind our main Beer Hall - we typically use it for special events and private parties. If you've never been back there, you can see a full virtual tour on our website.
For $20 (rather than the normal $10 Saturday admission), you'll get a souvenir glass, four tokens for beer tastings and access to our Investors Pub. When you arrive at the brewery, you'll check in downstairs and get a wristband, which allows you to bypass the line and head to the Investors Pub. From there, you'll be able to enjoy all the same beer and food we normally offer on Saturdays. Of course, you're free to go on any of our public tours at 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00 PM.
You'll need to purchase your pass in advance to get Investors Pub access. Passes are currently available for Saturday, March 26 and Saturday, April 2. Get yours at the links below.

Watch the Tournament at Doc's
March 17 - April 4
We can't say the name of the basketball tournament going on right now, but we think you know the one. It's happening all March, and it's chaos.
Doc's in Montrose is the place to be for the Official Saint Arnold Watch Party - they'll feature $3.75 drafts of our beer all tournament long, as well as prizes during select games.
Let Saint Arnold be the official beer of your winning bracket. (And your terrible one too!)
