Dear Saint Arnold's Army: We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as much as we did. As you start to make plans for the rest of the holiday season, keep in mind that our Beer Hall will be open normal hours with the exception of Christmas Day (we will be closed on that day). Bring the whole family! We're expecting a large crowd on Friday, December 18, so we'll be taking online reservations for lunch and serving our Daily Special only. Bishop's Barrel No. 12 Coming Monday
For the 12th release in our barrel aged series, we're revisiting a flavor profile we tried (and really, really loved) with Bishop's Barrel No. 2. Of course, we couldn't resist giving it a couple of twists.
Bishop's Barrel No. 12 is Christmas Ale aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels with Tart Cherries and three strains of Brettanomyces. We brewed this beer in January of 2014 and barreled it in February of 2014, meaning BB12 was on wood longer than any of our previous Bishop's Barrel releases - 21 months.
The beer pours with a very slight veil and ruby highlights. Aroma? Think toasted pie crust and cherry pie with powdered sugar followed by funky, earthy notes and subtle white grape. Taste? It starts with a light acidity that is quickly balanced with a cherry/caramel sweetness. The finish is reminiscent of Chardonnay - even though it was aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels - dry yet with a long, wine like finish.

Our First Ever Pub Crawl in Beaumont
Saturday, December 5 - 2:00 - 6:00 PM
Get ready, Beaumonters. Our World Famous Pub Crawl is heading your way. That's right. The Saint Arnold Pub Crawl is coming - for the first time ever - to the seat of Jefferson County... Beaumont, here we come.
As usual, we're utilizing our open house method. This means you'll visit the first five stops in any order, and you'll get your ticket at whichever stop you decide to visit first. We will only be handing out the tickets between 2:00 and 3:00. Thus, you need to begin crawling by 3:00.
At 6:00 PM, everybody will gather at the final stop, and that's where we will award the prizes. The prize for making all five stops will be a beautiful Saint Arnold pint glass. As always, designated drivers are both eligible for the award and encouraged to attend! Here's where you'll find us:

Pub Night at Saint Arnold

In the summer, our Beer Hall is cool and air conditioned. This time of year, it's warm and cozy. Join us in our warm, cozy confines this Friday evening for Pub Night, and we'll get you in the holiday spirit with a few special beer releases.
If you've yet to enjoy this year's version of Sailing Santa (brewed with Snap hops!), we'll have it available in bombers. We'll also be tapping a cask of Christmas Ale with Bourbon Soaked Vanilla Beans and Cinnamon Sticks. We call it Cut with Bread Pudding. Also on tap for the evening will be our Sorachi Ace Dubbel aged in Red Wine Barrels with Brettanomyces - aka Dubbelganger.
As always, you're welcome to come with an appetite. Chef Ryan and our kitchen crew will be serving delicious Pub Night fare including Burgers, Brats, Wings, Poutine, Chicken Caesar Wraps and more.
On Pub Nights, we open our Beer Hall from 5:00 - 10:00 PM strictly as a bar and let you choose what you want to purchase. There's no entry fee for the evening, so you can just choose beers by the individual glass or bottle. Pub Nights are strictly 21 and up.

Dickens on The Strand in Galveston
Friday, December 4 - Sunday, December 6
We're excited to be a part of an Island tradition this weekend during the 42nd Annual Dickens on The Strand. This Victorian holiday street festival features parades, non-stop entertainment on six stages, strolling carolers, roving musicians, bagpipers, jugglers and a host of other entertainers. Saint Arnold beers will be available all over the festival grounds.
This year, Dickens on The Strand features a few special events too. You can learn about The Strand and visit pubs with the Saint Arnold Walking Tour or check out the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa, the ship behind our IPA of the same name.
