Saint Arnold Army Newsletter

Dear Saint Arnold's Army:

Rising temperatures herald the approach of summer and, most importantly, Summer Pils. We are looking forward to this season even more this year for a simple reason: in addition to bottles, Summer Pils is now available in cans!

Heading to the river? Summer Pils cans. Heading to the beach? Summer Pils cans. Sitting on your couch in the air conditioning? Summer Pils cans. If you can't tell, we're excited.

Look for the tie dye cans at your favorite place to get Saint Arnold beer. If you don't see them in your store, ask the beer guy or beer gal there. They should be in soon.

Sugar Land Pub Crawl is This Saturday

We're returning to Sugar Land Town Square this Saturday, April 4 for our annual Pub Crawl. This year, you can choose which place you'd like to start. You'll get your punch card at that stop between 2:00 and 3:00 PM, and from there you'll visit six of the first seven stops.

At 6:00, everybody will gather at the final stop, and that's where we will award the prizes. As always, the prize for completing the crawl is a Saint Arnold Pub Crawl pint glass. We will have a large but limited supply. Designated drivers are always encouraged to participate and eligible for the award! Here's the layout:

Start at one of these spots between 2:00 - 3:00:
Flying Saucer   |   Guru Burgers & Crepes
Jupiter Pizza & Waffle Co.   |   Stadia   |   Blu
Baker St. Pub & Grill   |   The Rouxpour

End here at 6:00 PM:
World of Beer

Opening Day Party at Jackson Street BBQ
Monday, April 6 at 3:30 PM

Baseball season starts next week, and we've got a couple of big announcements. First, we'll be celebrating Opening Day with the grand opening of Jackson Street BBQ right next to the ballpark. The new joint from Bryan Caswell, Bill Floyd and Greg Gatlin will be a great place to hang out before you watch a game this season. On Monday, we'll be there with beer on tap and in cans, and live music from Houston legend Craig Kinsey will start at 4:00 PM.

Once you head over to the game, you'll notice even more Saint Arnold this year. You won't even have to get out of your seat to enjoy Fancy Lawnmower and Santo. We will be debuting our 16 oz cans of each in the hawker trays and other bars around the ballpark this season.

Of course, we'll still have plenty of our beer on tap at the Saint Arnold bar in left field. Out on the patio by our bar, we've added a couple of cornhole board sets and a giant Jenga game. See you at the ballpark this year!

28th Houston Annual Art Car Parade, Downtown
Saturday, April 11 - 2:00 - 4:00 PM

We love the Art Car Parade. We love art cars. We drive art cars. This year will be the 15th parade we've had cars entered.

To celebrate, we will be unveiling our 15th art car: a 1959 Cadillac convertible (think gratuitous fins) painted by local artist Robynn Sanders Hale. This car has been two years in the making. Over 1,000 hours of painting and leafing (it has gold, silver and copper leaf on it) went into it after months of developing the design. It is decorated with a morphing pattern of malt, hops, yeast and water. And fire. Because fire's cool.

We suggest you get out there early to see the cars up close and chat with the artists. The parade starts at 2:00 PM. You can also support the Art Car Parade by getting tickets to the VIPit Party where you'll enjoy food and beer starting at noon.

Rockin' Rollin' Prints 2015 at Saint Arnold
Sunday, April 19 - 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Another one of our favorite art events each year is PrintHouston's Rockin' Rollin' Prints. Over 50 artists from around Texas will bring their hand carved woodblocks to our parking lot and turn them into prints by driving a two-ton steamroller over them. How else would you do it? This year's theme is Everything's Bigger in Texas. After the prints are pressed, they'll be hung in the tour hall for viewing. If you fall in love with one, you can take it home - the prints will be for sale.

Burning Bones Press will also be upstairs with their It Came From the Bayou print fair. Parked outside will be an art installation in the Dormalou Project: Mobile Art Gallery bus and a food truck.

PrintHouston and Burning Bones will both have commemorative glasses for sale at a price of $10, which will include a pint of beer. Alternatively, you'll have the option to purchase beer. This event is free and open to the public all day - no tickets are necessary for entry.
