Dear JHYS Families,

This is my last newsletter as Director of JHYS. I would like to say thank you for all the phone calls and emails. It has meant a lot to me.

In 5 and a half years I have done my best to serve the club and it feels good to leave knowing that I have given my all. I know that the next director will be able to build upon our current foundation just like I was able to build upon the foundation left by our first Director, Rob Karas.

This has been a great experience for me and I leave with fond memories and many friends.

Have a great holiday season and I will see you on the field.

Ellie and Brooke Rice make the Round of 16 at the NCAA Tournament

Ellie plays for the University of Santa Clara, while Brooke plays for the University of Colorado. Unfortunately, after a great season both teams lost in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Santa Clara lost to Virginia Tech in a closely contested game that came down to penalty kicks. Colorado's season ended with a loss to Florida State.
Ellie and Brooke participated with JHYS as youth players. They also played soccer for Jackson Hole High School while also playing for the Utah Avalanche Club and the Utah Olympic Development Program.
World Cup Draw to be held on Friday

The 2014 World Cup in Brazil is fast approaching! The World Cup Draw will be held on Friday 12/6 at 9:30 am Mountain Standard Time. It can be viewed on ESPN2 or WatchESPN.

The US Team coached by Jurgen Klinsmann leads a team that is playing it's best soccer in years. It will be interesting to see which bracket the US has to go through to advance to the round of 16.
