Farewell to Theresa and Meg: This Sunday, June 14

At the end of June, Theresa Kimball, our Office Manager, and her husband, Bill, will be moving near Theresa's parents (outside Albany, NY). Theresa's last day as our Office Manager will be June 11, and her last Sunday with us will be June 14. We are extremely grateful for Theresa's many contributions to our St. Stephen's community. She has greatly helped us develop as an organization, and has been a steady, calm presence in the lives of all those who work here.

Meg McDermott, our South End School and Community Organizer, will also be leaving St. Stephen's on June 19.  Meg will be going back to school to get her master's degree in education at Boston College. It has been a blessing to have Meg with us these past four years.  Her work with our church, our youth programs and the Blackstone School has made a huge difference in our community.

Please join us in thanking them on this Sunday.

Father's Day: June 21
On Sunday, June 21, we will honor and bless all the fathers in our congregation at the 10:30 am liturgy followed by a special coffee hour. Please join us!
Congratulations, Liz Steinhauser!!!

Liz Steinhauser, Director of St. Stephen's Youth Programs, was presented with the Bishop Barbara C. Harris Award for Social Justice at this year's Episcopal City Mission's (ECM's) dinner. This award was established by ECM to celebrate Episcopal women who have created a positive change as leaders in the community or in the church (with emphasis on but not limited to work with youth). Nominees were judged from the perspective of the ministry of Bishop Barbara, a woman who did not follow the traditional path to the Episcopacy, was an outspoken advocate for the "least, the lost and the left out" and is a symbol of the church at its best. Congratulations, Liz!!

College & Career Mentors Needed
St. Stephen's Youth Programs is looking for adult mentors to take part in their one-on-one College and Career Mentoring Program. The opportunity to be a mentor is a rich and rewarding experience. It involves building personal connections and a relationship with one teen as he/she prepares for post-high school experiences.

Mentors are caring adults (like you!) who commit to one year of volunteer service at St. Stephen's (about 10 hours a month). You will form a supportive relationship with your teen, provide a safe space to ask questions about high school and post-secondary plans, and offer guidance through what is, for all teens, a time of transition and a test of their resilience. If you have any questions or are interested, please contact Jeremy Kazanjian-Amory at jeremy@ststephensbos.org.
Baptism

Baptism will be held during the Sunday liturgy on:

Nov. 1: All Saints' Day
