6 Years of Upside-Down Christmas Trees

In 2009 I decided that I needed a little change for my Christmas holiday.  I didn't want to decorate with the old familiar,  traditional ornaments and decorations.  I wanted something different. So I hit the stores and bought all new decorations...exclusively in silver and white.  But that wasn't enough of a change, I also decided to hang the tree from the ceiling.

This wasn't the first time I'd hung a tree from the ceiling.  My first, and only other time, was at age 18 when I was still living with my parents (but that's another story!).  It was time I did it again.

2009

So of course we did it again in 2010.

In 2011, I added the color chartreuse to the mix.
Since I was using only white and silver, adding the chartreuse gave the tree more texture but still retaining that "neutral" look I was wanting to keep.

Then in 2012 it was time to bring back my old familiar, traditional ornaments and decoration.

In 2013 I went back to the silver and white from 2009.

This year, 2014,we're doing a combination of white, silver and red...with only a hint of gold!  The combination gives the tree a slightly traditional feel , even if it IS still hanging from the ceiling!

Hope I've Inspired!
