Renewing with Spring
If you're like most people, you're just about ready for the warmer temperatures of Spring!
And while there's a lot to be said for the beauty of white wintery days, one can't resist the allure of Spring...a time of renewal, awakenings, and new beginnings! A time to go outdoors and enjoy the feel and the noise of Spring. Listen to the birds, smell the flowers, recharge! Although there's a million things to do inside the house, I encourage you to enjoy the outdoors every chance you get.
But when you're inside, here are a few simple ways to enjoy the Springtime!
Open the Windows
If possible, open the windows and let the air in. Even for just an hour or two. At the very least, open the blinds and set the sun in. Natural light is an amazing energizer.

Change Your Throw Pillows
Throw pillows can be an economical, yet very effective way to lighten the feel or any room. Change your pillows to ones with lighter backgrounds and/or more colorful hues. The existing pillows can be placed in "space bags" and stored for the fall.

|
New Table Setting
Go ahead, invest in some new, colorful, fun dinnerware. It doesn't need to be top quality, just fun and fresh. If you're current dinnerware is white, then add color with new salad plates or stemware. You can also change placemats, napkins and hand towels.
|
Change Your Bedding Our bedrooms are important places. They should always feel tranquil and familiar. This makes them a top choice for bringing Spring inside. The biggest way is to change the bedding. Find one that you love...one that is lighter in color or more colorful and fresh. Most department stores, and Bed Bath & Beyond have a good selection of bed-in-a-bag sets that are a simple and economical way to achieve a big change. |
|
Fresh Flowers
What better way to bring Spring inside? This time of year, the selections are stunning. My favorite is the tulip. Decide your favorite and bring it inside. Most local grocery chains have a floral area where you can purchase flowers as part of your grocery trip. Another favorite is the carnation. You can get them in almost any color and they last a long time. Combine them with other blooms for a more eclectic bouquet.

|
Lemons & Limes
Few things evoke freshness like lemons and limes. Use them to fill bowls that sit on your coffee table or dining table. Or fill glass jars that can be placed anywhere for a pop of color and a fresh feel.
|
Replace Your Welcome Mat
And just before coming inside, you'll want to set the tone by replacing your welcome mat with a brighter, cheerier one.

|
|
But probably the most important...
Clean!
There's a lot to be said for the notion of "spring cleaning". We can't underestimate the impact a fresh, clean, organized environment will have on your attitude.
So make the time to purge, organizing, and clean!
Hope I've Inspired.
