PARISH LIFE
A Note of Thanks from the Millburn Short Hills Chinese Association
Dear Dr. Mulder, Mrs. Towell, Mr. Johnson and the Christ Church Community,
Thanks so much for let us, the Millburn Short Hills Chinese Association, use your green lawn and the church facility on June 25. It was a perfect sunny day for BBQ with the gorgeous church view.
Thanks for allowing us to tour inside the church. We were amazed how beautiful inside & outside the church is. Thanks for Mr. Johnson helping us around.
We had a great time and really appreciate your kindness and generosity. Millburn/Short Hills is a wonderful town. Looking forward to building our community together. Best wishes.
Sincerely,
Roy You

MUSIC
Taking Orders for Christ Church Music
If you'd like to add to your music collection, order a CD of the Allen Morrison organ rededication recital, which took place here in Novemberor our own choir's All Saint's Evensong from November 1. We need to know how many copies of each to make so please contact the parish office to place your order. There is no specific charge for these CDs, but rather you are asked to make a free will contribution to support music at Christ Church.
You can sample some of these songs on the Christ Church website.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Scrip Grocery Cards for Shop Rite and Kings Available Sunday
Grocery cards are available in denominations of $50 and $100 dollars, and you can purchase using either cash or checks for face value. It is a win-win. You buy your groceries at the stores you already shop at and 5% of your grocery order goes to buy food at The Food Pantry of the Oranges. If you are new to the program please find Arlene Sommer after either service in Parish Hall and she will be happy to explain how easy it is to participate.  Every $100 card bought is $5.00 for the food pantry! See you Sunday.

Careers in Transition
Careers in Transition will not meet this Saturday, July 2. The next gathering will be held on Saturday, July 16.

Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges
As you know, it takes an army to feed the hungry and Christ Church is a partner in a very important consortium, the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges, that feeds the hungry in Orange and East Orange.  Christ Church's official dates to serve for the upcoming months are July 13 and August 10. Additionally, as we head into summer routines, you and your vacationing students are welcome to volunteer whenever it fits your schedule. The food pantry is open every Wednesday year-round except the first Wednesday of each month. Additional food and excess grocery bag donations may be left in the food barrel outside Parish Hall. For more information or to say you can help, contact Peggy Baggaley.

FATHER TIM'S BLOG
The Jesus Movement in Short Hills
This past Sunday, The Rev. Bowie Snodgrass delivered her first sermon at Christ Church about the Jesus Movement in Short Hills. Below is an excerpt from her sermon delivered Sunday, June 26, 2016:
When Jesus "set his face to go to Jerusalem" in Luke 9:51, he did not set out alone.  His Disciples set out with him and the women we heard about in the Gospel two weeks ago, including Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna.  And there were many others. Next Sunday, we will hear that Jesus "appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him."
What is Jesus calling his disciples at Christ Church to do?  Where is he calling us to walk? Who is he calling us to become? [Read More]
