Downtown Hidden Gem: Slumland Theatre

Slumland Theatre is an All Ages music and art venue working with local artists and the community to strengthen Red Deer's scene through music events, art shows and monthly charity functions/family benefits. With our venue we have endless possibilities and are always open to something new like family dance parties, comedy hour, private parties and more but still striving to provide a safe place for local youth and the rest of the community. Slumland has hosted many charity events including Ronald McDonald's Little Rockstars, Zombie Walk for the Red Deer Food Bank, Charity Auction for the Christmas Bureau as well as a few Family Benefits and will continue to do so to do our part to give back to the community anyway we can.                                                                             Slumland is also lucky to have the opportunity to house local artist merchandise via art, clothing band merch and cd's, jewellery and always looking to add to our little store and help support locals.

Check www.reddeerscene.com for full listings of events held at Slumland this month.

The Co-Operators Deliver Peace of Mind in Downtown

Do your eyes glaze over a little when people start talking about insurance? Even though it's not always exciting, this topic is essential. Protecting people from life's most unexpected challenges is the priceless service provided by the Co-Operators Agency Downtown, a recognizable name in the area of insurance.  This franchise has had a Downtown home for twelve years, and a new owner for the past 2.5 years. Darcy Pysyk came from life as a lawyer in Downtown Edmonton for the opportunity to be a business owner. His family loves the city, "It has the feel and amenities of a city, but not the headaches."

We Want to Hear From YOU

As we plan the upcoming year's events, communications, and strategic direction, we keep in mind that the businesses of Downtown Red Deer are our owners, not our customers.
We want to hear your input about what you would like to see happen and how you can help make it happen.
Thank you to the businesses, professionals, and service providers of Downtown that have allowed up to serve you in the past year.
For bright ideas, constructive criticism, and inquiring minds, please call us at (403)-340-8696 or email info@downtownreddeer.com
