Our Downtown community is beyond unique. It is an exceptional mixture of many, and as we head into the holidays it's good to think of consumer power as a way to help the local economy. An example?

...comforts the sole is pleased to sell the jewelry of locals Wendy Meeres and Carol Naught. Partnerships, money back to community members, and unique products for the hard-to-find person are all available to us here in Downtown Red Deer. Are you in?!

How do we get people prone to mall shopping to try us? We work together. And this year the DBA is proud to produce foot traffic through impressive events like the Santa Parade and promotions like Time For Lunch, so you can produce marketing to get people through the doors of your businesses.

The DBA would like to extend a warm welcome to new businesses joining our Downtown community. Please say hi to Hello Honeybee and The Pink Paire

City Motion Fitness Studio Climbs to Health

Krystal Kromm and Jonathon Wieler are all about fitness, community and family. The owners of City Motion Red Deer are an entrepreneurial couple know what they stand for, and what they're offering our city, "We want an approachable image so people aren't intimidated when they come in. That keeps average people out of fitness centers." The motto at the studio Jonathon renovated is "real fitness, real health". The two play off each other, with Jonathon more behind-the-scenes renovating the updated space and doing marketing while Krystal leads classes with her certification as a professional trainer.

They have been open since September on Alexander Way, downtown's distinctive 48 St. across from Original Joe's. They run outdoor bootcamps in the summer, and move in when the weather dips for focused classes. This functional training gives clients things that make them stronger in day-to-day life in a backdrop of comfort and ease.

Featured Non-Profit - United Way

Not only is the United Way part of the beautiful tapestry of Downtown, so are MNP (CentreFest's presenting sponsor) and Warren Sinclair LLP, two of three companies doing leadership matching for this year's campaign currently at 75% of their United Way of Central Alberta is announcing the first-ever Leadership Matching Challenge. This new initiative will provide matching funds for new or increased Leadership gifts of $1,000 or more to United Way's Community Impact Fund.
The 2012 Leadership Matching Challenge, sponsored by MNP, Canadian Tire North and Warren Sinclair LLP, gives individuals who are considering a gift to United Way an extra incentive to have their gift matched dollar-for-dollar. Collectively, the three companies have pledged $22,000 for the Challenge. And that's three kinds of awesome!!!
