AHEPA Athletic Hall of Fame 2015 Inductees

  

 

WASHINGTON (June 8, 2015) --The AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee has selected its Hall of Fame Class of 2015, announced Supreme President Phillip Frangos and Hall of Fame Selection Committee Chairman Gregory J. Stamos. 

 

The AHEPA Hellenic Athletic Hall of Fame inductees are:

  • Theodore ("Ted") Leonsis, founder, chairman, majority owner and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which owns and operates the Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Wizards (NBA), and Washington Mystics (WNBA);
  • Christina Loukas, College All-American and U.S. Olympian in Diving;
  • Bob Barnek, College basketball player; and
  • Paul J. Kaliades, College football and baseball player.

Migrant Arrivals in Greece 6 Times Higher Than Last Year - NY TIMES - June 5 - The United Nations refugee agency says an estimated 42,000 migrants have reached Greek shores since the start of the year - six times more than in the same period last year and almost as many as those arriving in Italy.  The number is close to the total arriving in Greece for the full year 2014.
