Professors at WSSU Promoted,
Awarded Tenure
Winston-Salem State University has issued its list of faculty members who have earned promotions and those who have been awarded tenure.
Dr. Craig Richardson has been promoted to professor of economics.
Fourteen faculty members have been promoted to associate professor with tenure. They are: Dr. Cedric Bass, English; Dr. Manjunatha Bhat, biology and physiology; Dr. William Boone, English; Dr. Yolanda Byrd, gerontology; Dr. Elvira Caldwell, computer science; Dr. Charles Ebert, chemistry; Tammy Evans, graphic design and fine arts; Dr. Keith Irwin, computer science, Dr. Thomas Judson, digital arts and music; Andre Minkins, theatre, speech, television and film; Dr. Leonard Muaka, world languages and cultures; Dr. Debra O'Connell, music education; Dr. Shawn Ricks, rehabilitation studies; and Dr. Xiuping Tao, physics.
The following faculty members have been awarded tenure:
Dr. Faye Cobb, associate professor of healthcare management;
Dr. George Harwell, associate professor of clinical laboratory sciences;
Dr. Alexander Kondeas, associate professor of financial planning; and
Dr. Wanda Patterson, associate professor of mathematics.
