Dublin and D�n Laoghaire Education and Training Board invites applications for the Music Generation South Dublin Co-ordinator position on behalf of South Dublin County Council and South Dublin Music Education Partnership.

3. Arts Council Artist in the Community Scheme

New deadlines announced: 2014 (Round 2) Monday 23 June 2014

Twice yearly, the Arts Council offers grants to enable artists and communities of place/or interest to work together on projects. The scheme is open to artists from any of the following artform disciplines: architecture, circus, street art and spectacle, dance, film, literature (Irish and English language), music, opera, theatre, visual arts and traditional arts. The projects can take place in a diverse range of social and community contexts e.g. arts and health; arts in prisons; arts and older people; arts and cultural diversity.

There are two phases to the scheme.

Phase One
Research & Development is open to artists who wish to research and develop a project in a community context. Research & Development/Mentoring is open to artists who wish to develop a community based project and who have identified an artist mentor they want to work with during the research and development phase.

Phase Two
Project Realisation is open to communities of interest or place (or their representative organisations) with an artist.

4. Workshops: Touring & Dissemination of Work Scheme

Thinking of applying for The Arts Council Touring & Dissemination of work scheme? The next deadline is May 8th, 2014.

Arts Audiences will run two workshops to assist you in making a good application, particularly focused on how to set audiences targets for your application. There will also be a case study and question and answer sessions, along with the presentation.

5. The Jim McNaughton/TileStyle €10,000 Artist's Bursary Allianz Business to Arts Awards 2013

Closing Date: Tuesday, 6 May, 5 pm

The Jim McNaughton/TileStyle €10,000 bursary will be awarded towards the evolution of a work, body of work or project by an emerging artist(s) in any art form. The bursary is designed to develop an artist's creative practice and help take an idea to realisation, whether that be in writing, composing, performing, or creating in a visual or other medium. Nominations must be made by a partnering business, arts or other organisation, and should include up to 800 words on the artist(s), the partnership, and how the bursary will be used.

Awarded as part of the Allianz Business to Arts Awards 2013, the Bursary is for projects and the development of ideas realised before 1 September 2014.

6. ACADEMOS Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy

ACADEMOS Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy in association with Irish World Academy of Music and Dance University of Limerick presents Master of Arts in Classical String Performance

APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Applications are invited for the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Piano, Harpsichord.

AUDITION AND INTERVIEW

An alternative audition process will be put in place for overseas students

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Two pieces of your own choice in contrasting styles. Pieces may be unaccompanied (you may bring your own accompanist if you so choose - an accompanist will not be provided). A CV is required detailing educational background.  A repertoire list may be included.

There will be a short sight reading test. All successful candidates will be automatically considered for an RTE lyric fm scholarship, and piano applicants will also be invited to apply for a competitive Graduate Assistantship in Piano. Irish World Academy Scholarships will also be available.

7. Call for Applications: artsandhealth.ie Documentation Bursary

Deadline: Friday, 30 May, 12 noon

artsandhealth.ie invites applications from arts and health practitioners (artists working in healthcare settings, healthcare professionals, arts and health partnerships etc.) for a bursary to produce documentation of an arts and health project. The proposed documentation can take the form of a short film / audio documentary and / or publication which can be widely disseminated with a view to encouraging high quality, creative documentation of arts and health practice and creating a greater national understanding of the nature of this practice. 

Examples of existing documentation of arts and health practice can be found in the Resources section of artsandhealth.ie.

8. Opportunities for Musicians

Auditions will take place on Saturday, 10th May 2014, in Dublin. Orchestral excerpts and audition repertoire will be made available to those candidates shortlisted for audition.

Principal Bassoon, Aurora Orchestra, London

Aurora is seeking to recruit a Principal Bassoon to join the group of 16 freelance musicians who make up the orchestra's core team of Principal Players. Although varying instrumentation means that personnel requirements will differ from project to project, Principal Players are typically offered approximately the equivalent of 80-100 days of work per year.
