Music Generation Cork City: 2014 kick-started with a celebratory Concert Party at Cork Opera House! Hundreds of young musicians performed, from host of a multi-music-genre vocal and instrumental programmes run in partnership with Barrack St. Brass Band, SoundOUT, Creative Tradition, Cork Academy of Music and lots more.  To top it all off, a young band from Terence MacSwiney Community College involved in the SoundOUT programme rocked the RT� studios with their live performance on Elev8Read more here.

Harp, Brass, Pipe, String, Drumming and lots more! Music Generation Wicklow: A range of early years and primary school access programmes continue to develop throughout Co. Wicklow in addition to an exciting and ambitious New Notes Now commission programme in partnership with Wicklow County Arts Office and produced by the Contemporary Music Centre of Ireland. 600 young people are participating in the composition programme with many exciting performances scheduled later in 2014! Read more here.

 

Music Generation Carlow: Little People Big Voices early years programmes and hugely successful Choral Singing and Recorder programmes continue to grow in Carlow. A new Traditional Irish music programme is underway and an inaugural Recorder Festival featuring renowned Irish ensemble The Gregory Walkers takes place runs from March 11th - 14th. Music Generation Limerick City: Lots happening in Limerick City! Bands, choirs, orchestras, performances and a range of access programmes continue throughout the city. Band Explosion has launched - a long term project that will provide mentoring and skills building for young bands. Music Generation Offaly/Westmeath: It's the Kod�ly approach all the way! With 20 participating primary schools, this hugely successful collaboration with DIT Conservatory of Music and the Kodly Society of Ireland is making a huge musical impact on more than 1,500 children. 4. IAYO Conducting Workshops 2014
 

The IAYO Conducting Workshops directed by Robert Houlihan will take place at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2014 alongside the Academy's Orchestral Manoeuvres summer course.  The course will take place from Monday 7th to Friday 11th July and will accommodate a range of ability and experience.  Full details and a link to the online application form can be found here.

5. Irish Youth Wind Ensemble

 

This year's IYWE takes place from 17th-23rd August at University of Limerick. Concerts will be in Waterford and Dublin with venues tbc.  Application forms are now online and the closing date to apply for auditions is Monday 10 March 2014.  For more details and to apply online visit www.iywe.ie

6. Irish Youth Choir Auditions 2014
 

There is still time to audition for the Irish Youth Choir!  Auditions are held annually in a number of centres nationwide and following successful audition, membership lasts for two years. Read more here

7. TOSINI Workshop
 
TOSINI (Teachers of Singing in Ireland) presents a one-hour workshop by Mary King, 'Singing Solutions...adapting the skills you have for different styles' on Saturday 22nd March at 7pm in St. Patrick's Hall, Donegall Street, Belfast.  Mary King will also be available for some one-to-one teaching. 8. Young Ensembles Scheme from the Arts Council

  

The Arts Council has announced the second round of the Young Ensembles Scheme for 2014. The purpose of this award is to support groups of young people between the ages of 12 and 23 to create ambitious and original work together in any art form.
