We Are Hiring!

Music Network is seeking to appoint a Programmes Manager who has a combination of drive, flair and organisational ability to develop, plan, negotiate and deliver a quality music programme in line with our strategy and priority areas.This is an exciting and varied opportunity for someone who possesses a passion for presenting live music, and for delivering the highest quality performance experiences for both artists and audiences. It requires someone who has a successful track record of at least 3 consecutive years of experience of managing projects in the arts / cultural sector allied to a detailed knowledge of classical music, and a genuine demonstrable interest in music across genres, including jazz and traditional music.

We are also seeking to appoint a PR and Marketing Officer, who has a combination of initiative, rigour and communication skills to support the drafting, coordination and delivery of marketing and PR materials and activity. Working as part of a small, close-knit team, this role needs a qualified professional, who has gained credible experience of PR and Marketing and has demonstrated a clear appetite to roll-up their sleeves. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable interest in classical, Irish traditional or jazz music (and culture in general) and a high level of enthusiasm for quality live music performances in these genres.

IAYO Conducting Workshops 2014

Conducting workshops for youth orchestra conductors will be held at the Royal Irish Academy of Music to run alongside their Summer Orchestra Academy. Participants will avail of tuition in baton technique and score preparation along with opportunities to observe sectional and full rehearsals with the RIAM summer orchestra academy, conducted by James Cavanagh.

The course is for mixed ability / experience and is suitable for beginners.

5. Kilkenny Arts Festival Seeks Festival Producer


Kilkenny Arts Festival is recruiting for the newly created position of Festival Producer, to work closely with the recently appointed Festival Director in bringing the Festival to a new level of achievement and international recognition. Reporting to the Festival Director, this experienced arts producer will take lead responsibility for producing the Festival programme.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep passion for and knowledge of the arts, exceptional experience of producing and managing performing arts events, and strong general management and financial skills, together with an ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence at multiple levels. Experience in festivals and/or as a producer of live music, including classical music, will be an advantage.

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in one of Europe's significant festivals at an exciting time of artistic and organisational development.

3 Female Composers Required: Youth Music Theatre UK 
Commission: �3,000

For Summer 2014 Youth Music Theatre UK is offering three commissions of �3,000 each to three female composers under the age of 30 (by the 31 August, 2014) to write a 30 minute piece to be combined together to form a three act single evening production entitled & Forgive Us Our Trespasses. The writing is to be inspired by the poem of the same title by the Northern Irish poet, Sin�ad Morrissey, or other of her work; Sinead is Belfast's Poet Laureate and has recently won the prestigious T.S. Eliot Prize for Poetry.

Performances will take place at The Mac (Metropolitan Arts Centre), Belfast on the 15 and 16 August, with a rehearsal period from Monday 4 August.

Italian Opera Summer School July 2014
 
The Italian Opera Summer School will be running two courses, the first from the 2nd - 10th July and the second from the 12th - 20th July 2014.
 
During each course, six selected singers and one student repetiteur will focus on the Italian operatic repertoire, working intensively with a vocal coach, a language coach and stage director in an idyllic, relaxed setting in Puglia, south eastern Italy. The week culminates in a public staged concert, offering the unique opportunity to perform to Italians in Italian.
