The One of Peace
The Season of Advent, 2012
Thursday, December 20

...for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth...

Greetings!

As we light the fourth and last Advent candle this Sunday, the candle of peace, we're almost close enough to Christmas to peer right into the cradle.  What wonderful passages of Scripture we have for Sunday: First, that familiar bit from the Prophet Micah who looks into the future and sees One coming from Bethlehem...

...and he shall be the one of peace.

And then the lovely song of Mary, the Magnificat, found in Luke 1: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord...."

Take some time, please, before Sunday and meditate on those passages (see next column) and come prepared to share something the Spirit says to you.

Christmas is very close... and we can almost peer right into the manger.

Waiting and watching with you,

Christmas Eve SmallPS: Don't forget about our annual Christmas Eve service of Carols and Communion next Monday night at 5 PM (at the chapel).
