Sing aloud, O daughter Zion; shout, O Israel! |
Rejoice! This third Sunday of Advent is one for singing and rejoicing-- and it's also that Sunday in Advent that we light the pink candle, the candle of Joy. As we focus on that marvelous passage in Zephaniah (next column) we read about the joy that the prophet promised for the future:
Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem!
But here's a question for you: What might quiet have to do with rejoicing? Dig a little bit, try a different translation or two. There's a beautiful picture of how our heavenly Father, the Lord our God, loves us.
Already looking forward to worship on Sunday!
Waiting and watching with you, PS: Don't forget about our annual Christmas Eve service of Carols and Communion at 5 PM (at the chapel). |
