Christ the King!

The LORD is king, he is robed in majesty...

Greetings!

At long last, we come to the end of another Christian Year-- a year of marking our time and ordering our steps according to the person and work of Jesus Christ.

But the year's end doesn't decrescendo or feebly run out, rather it ends in a rising crescendo of praise and wonder as we see Jesus Christ as King.

...the LORD is robed, he is girded with strength. He has established the world; it shall never be moved....

This Sunday, the final one of Christian Year, comes at the end of several weeks in our worship where we've been looking at the attributes of our marvelous King-- a perfect, ultimate High Priest who sits at the right hand of the Father.

Join us this Sunday as we see the portrait of our Ultimate King finally revealed in its entirety. And this, too: As we dig into Scripture (next column), we're literally going to see some portraits revealed as several artists in our community (including you, too, if you like) give us their interpretation of Christ the King!

It's going to be a beautiful Sunday of worship.

Much love to you,

Jesus Christ Pantocrator

Little quiz for you: The two sides of Jesus' face are not symmetrical-- not alike in size or shape. Do you suppose that's on purpose? Why?
