For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one...

Greetings!

Our portrait of the ultimate High Priest, who is also King, Son, Heir, Sacrifice, and Second Adam, continues to be revealed to us as we approach Christ the King Sunday. This week's passage in Hebrews says:

...but he entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.

We talked last week about Jesus serving in a "temple not made by human hands" and saw some interesting parallels with the Garden of Eden.

This week, do some more thinking about sacred space and maybe take time to look through Scripture at other sacred spaces: What do they have in common? Who goes there? What do those people do?

Another theme in the other Scriptures appointed for Sunday (next column): They have God's providence in common. What might those passages have to do with our study of the ultimate King and Priest serving in a temple not made with human hands?

Looking forward to Sunday,

Little quiz for you: The two sides of Jesus' face are not symmetrical-- not alike in size or shape. Do you suppose that's on purpose? Why?
