A Forever Priest
Season after Pentecost, 2012
Thursday, October 25
He holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.

Greetings!

One thing we learn this Sunday about Jesus is that He continues in His priestly role forever.

Consequently he is able for all time to save those who approach God through him....

Toward the end of the reading in Hebrews, the writer once again draws a distinction between the old covenant and the new, which he repeatedly calls the "better" or "superior" way.

Before Sunday, take a moment to look at verse 28. What does it mean when the writer talks about the "law" versus the "word of the oath"? What is it and where does it come from?

Let's come Sunday ready to worship and share insights into our Forever Priest!

Little quiz for you: The two sides of Jesus' face are not symmetrical-- not alike in size or shape. Do you suppose that's on purpose? Why?
