Questions from TeachAde Members

I'm Uli Jensen, and I have something to say. I recently moved from one high school teaching position to another in a nearby district. I'm dismayed at how different the expectations are for what I call, 'American Cultural Behavior.' You know, things like boys taking off their hats when entering a building, no cussing in public places and saying, "Excuse me" when belching. My new position accepts a wider range of socially unacceptable (to me) behavior. Should I pursue giving my students necessary (to me) lessons in the real world or roll with it? I would appreciate your response at TeachAde's group called,  Uli Has Something To Say.
