Celebrate May Day
Wednesday, May 1st
|
May 1st, often called May Day, just might have more holidays than any other day of the year. It's a celebration of Spring. In many countries, it is a national holiday. May 1st is important for more than forsythia and daffodils. The date is one of the days midway between an equinox and a solstice. It stems from the ancient festival of Beltane, in Ireland, which relates to the changing power of the sun at this time of year bringing fertility to the earth. Its most recognized tradition is the Maypole dance, in which people wrapped ribbons around a tree (now a pole) welcoming Spring in song and dance.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo Tuesday, May 5th |

Cinco de Mayo is annually observed on May 5. This is the anniversary of a victory in 1862 in the fight for independence from French forces. It is a festival of Mexican pride and heritage in the United States.
Celebrate with delicious dishes from Mexico. Now we can easily find authentic ingredients in our local grocery stores.

Celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Day Thursday, May 7th |

Celebrate Mother's Day Sunday, May 12th |
Mother's Day is annually held on the second Sunday of May. It celebrates motherhood
and it is a time to honor mothers. Many give gifts, cards, flowers, candy, a meal in a restaurant or other treats to their Moms, Mamas, Mommies, Grandmothers, Great-grandmothers, Stepmothers, and Foster Mothers. The staff at TeachAde wishes all Mothers a very happy day!

Find the Bug!
Our Challenge to You:
Take Two
| In our last eBulletin, we offered our members an opportunity to find "bugs" on our TeachAde site and we heard from some of our members. One member, Danielle, from Washington, D.C., found a bug and, as promised, we sent her a gift card from Starbucks. She was thrilled and sent this:
"Well, thank you! That was extremely kind. I very much appreciate the treat from Starbucks. I was very impressed by how quickly your team responded to my inquiries. TeachAde is a great resource and I look forward to using it more in the future."
We want to be fair and so we have developed a new group called " Bugs on TeachAde." If a member finds a problem, we ask that you check our group site to see if it has already been reported. As a member, you are responsible for posting your find in this group and then contacting us. We will fulfill our obligation and send you a gift card. Deal? Let us know!

Thank You

We hope this quick communication was helpful. Please feel free to forward this e-mail to your colleagues, and encourage them to register for TeachAde too. And if you have any suggestions or ideas for the TeachAde Community please let us know. We are always trying to improve TeachAde and make it the best for you, our users.
