Jack's Kitchen
DCD Head Chef Jack O'Donnell Playing the Pots
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!
This week our head chef Jack O'Donnell decided to have some fun playing the pots, that is, using his kitchen pots as drums, much to the delight and amusement of his young audience in the lunchroom. Kitchen staff have lots of fun with students during the year, but especially when they take on special projects that involve cooking, like making cake castles, baking pies, and making homemade bread. There are probably more than a few budding chefs among them, and they can say they had their start in Jack's kitchen!

Award Season 2
CJ pushed through the church doors,
Skipped down the steps.
The outside air smelled like freedom,
But it also smelled like rain,
Which freckled CJ's shirt and dripped down his nose.
He ducked under his nana's umbrella, saying,
"How come we gotta wait for the bus in all this wet?"
"Trees get thirsty, too," his nana told him.
"Don't you see that big one drinking through a straw?"
CJ looked for a long time but never saw a straw.
