Milestones at DCD
L-R: Janine Saint-Louis, Tim Jackson '58, and Nick Thacher

Over the next year, DCD will say goodbye to a number of familiar faces.

Janine Saint-Louis, primary school and needlework teacher, retired this summer after 45 years of teaching.

Tim Jackson '58, DCD's Business Manager, will retire at the end of December after 43 years of teaching and coaching.

Nick Thacher, Head of School, will retire at the end of June after leading DCD for 12 years.

Allison Webster will replace Nick Thacher as Head of School in July when he retires. Allison is currently the Assistant Head of School at the Shady Hill School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. With 23 years of experience as a teacher, advisor and administrator, Allison is an exceptional educator and leader with a rich understanding of children, school communities, and the local independent school environment. She has been involved in all aspects of the Pre-K - 8 academic program including the implementation of new curriculum and programs, as well as faculty and administrative hiring, evaluation and professional development. Additionally, Allison serves on Shady Hill's Board of Trustees, has provided leadership for strategic planning, accreditation and major academic initiatives, including academic technology, STEAM curriculum, program review, and school schedule. We look forward to welcoming her in July 2016.
Alumni Speakers Series
Nick Jackson '87 with his parents Susie Jackson and Tim Jackson '58, and the bike he rode to the assembly.

DCD's 2015 Alumni Award recipient Nick Jackson '87 returned to DCD on October 29, 2015, to speak to students about his work helping to make cities safer for cyclists and pedestrians. Staying true to his own mission, he biked from his home in Boston to speak at DCD. Students had many questions, including asking how many bikes he owned and if he rode his bike in the snow.

Upcoming speakers include Kim Stevenson '05 on Thursday, January 7, 2016, and Kate Woodworth '65 on Thursday, March 3, 2016.

DCD students love to hear from alumni about where their life after DCD has taken them. If you would like to share your story with our current students, please contact Ashley Linell for available dates.
