Don't Miss The Fun of Family Skating!
Join other DCD families for free skating at the Annual DCD Family Skating Party on Saturday, January 31, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. at the Noble and Greenough Bliss Omni Flood Rink located at 170 Pine Street, Dedham. Hot chocolate and snacks will be served. There are no skate rentals, so please bring your own skates.

Make Sure Your Information for Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day Is Up to DateDCD will host our annual Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day on Friday, April 10, this year. Invitations to this special event will be personalized by your children and mailed by the Development Office to the grandparents who have been specified on your registration form. If you would like a grandparent added or taken off this list, or your child would like to invite a special friend (for example: an aunt, uncle, or neighbor) in lieu of a grandparent, please contact Danise Cavallaro at ext. 2582 or dcavallaro@dcds.net.

Our school celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy with a day of service. It is always a challenge to explain the events that surrounded his life and death to students of different ages. The Middle School students examine the injustices in our society. Our younger children grasp that he was a great man who fought for freedom and equality for all.  | The Cart That Carried Martin (video trailer) |
There was a picture book that was published in 2013 that helps to explain some of the story of Dr. King's impact on our nation. Eve Bunting describes his importance to us all by telling the readers about his funeral in The Cart That Carried Martin (Charlesbridge). Don Tate illustrated the simple, yet powerful, story in pencil and gouache on watercolor paper.
