Seventh Graders Keep Audience Guessing in Entertaining Murder MysterySeventh Graders gave two excellent performances of their class play, a murder mystery with many twists and turns, on Thursday and Friday, November 13 and 14, in the Lowell Center. The play, written and directed by Elisa Sidoli, kept viewers wondering about the murderer's identity until the very end. The sets were designed by students in Lisa Houck's set design class, including Seventh Graders Kai Dixon and Keara McHaffie, with costumes by Drama Assistant Jane Rothwell.

The Cold and Snow Are Finally Here! Now that the weather is getting colder, all students should have a sweater, fleece, or coat. Children in the Primary and Lower Schools are required to wear snow pants, boots, and mittens or gloves for recess when snow is on the ground. Please make sure you label all items of clothing with your child's name.

Blue Blazer/Chorus Attire Exchange If your child needs a blazer, there are blazers in the closet in the Emmons Lobby, next to Mr. Thacher's office, that may be taken or exchanged for use by DCD students. Blazers may also be donated by placing them in this closet at any time throughout the school year. You do not need to drop a blazer to take one, but it does help with inventory. Also included in the exchange this year are white blouses and black skirts for Lower School and Middle School chorus members. All items should be clean and placed on hangers in the closet.

When Lauren Tarshis published her first I Survived book in 2010, reluctant readers and avid readers alike clamored for more. That title was I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic: 1912, and with that novel, Tarshis developed a writing model that appeals to many children. ....
One of Tarshis' books is a nominee for the latest Massachusetts Children's Book Award, I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916. Long before the movie, Jaws, captured the nation's fascination, there was a different shark attack that made headlines. A great white shark was reported to be attacking swimmers along the Jersey shore.
