Play Season Begins

DCD celebrated the start of the drama season with the Third Grade play. Students told the story of witches and their cats who try and take over the King and Queen's kingdom. The students learned many lines, songs, and dances and shared their wonderful acting skills with the school community.

Gift Wrap Fundraiser Wraps Up!
DCD's annual gift wrap fundraiser wraps up next week. This weekend is your final chance to share the catalog with family, friends, and neighbors! All orders and checks must be brought in on Tuesday, October 14, our next day back at school, and placed in the mailbox in the front office. Out-of-town relatives and friends can place their order online at innisbrook.com, using our school number, 101457, and designating the student who should receive credit. If you have questions about ordering, contact 877-525-5608, or customerservice@innisbrook.com.
Culture Club Begins Next Week
Culture Club, an after-school group for Lower School (Grades 1-5) students of color, will hold its first meeting of the school year next week on Wednesday, October 15, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. If you think your child might be interested in joining and you haven't already done so, please contact Lynne Mayard at lmayard@dcds.net to let her know if your child plans to attend. Help Us Promote Our Open Houses
The Admissions Office is hosting three open house events this fall on October 19, November 6, and November 21. Picture book biographies for children have become works of art in recent years. It's not just younger children who enjoy them. Because of their content, students in the middle school also find them entertaining and valuable for research. Talented authors and illustrators bring the stories of historical and contemporary people to life in engaging text and art.
