We are saddened to share the passing of our longtime supporter and friend, Dr. Paul Terasaki.
 
Dr. Terasaki was born in Los Angeles in 1929.
 
He spent three high school years during World War II interned with his family and other Japanese Americans in the Gila River War Relocation Center in Arizona.
 
He later earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctorate in zoology from UCLA and was professor of surgery in the Department of Surgery. He also dedicated his life to improving the understanding of Japan in the United States, and he tirelessly and generously supported the Center until the very end.

11 a.m., Sunday, March 6, at Royce Hall.

Accessible parking spaces are located on Level 4 of the parking structure Cross the footbridge and follow signs to the front of Royce Hall.

Cultural News' Mission: to introduce the best of Japanese art exhibitions and cultural events to the public in Los Angeles

The standard budget of the Cultural News operation in past five years is $35,000 annually. The standard annual revenue consists of subscriptions for $15,000, advertisements for $10,000, and donations for $10,000.
 
In order to ensure publishing the monthly paper in 2015-2017, Cultural News seeks the donation of $30,000 by March 31, 2016.
 
As of Feb. 16, Cultural News has received $24,475 donation from supporters of Cultural News since January 2015. These supports enable Cultural News to continue publishing in coming years.
