Japanese-speaking social service branch office opened in South Bay

Little Tokyo Service Center has been providing comprehensive social services in last 35 years. Currently the service center is providing counseling, case management, group supports in six languages. South Bay area including cities of Gardena and Torrance are home of Japanese Americans and newcomers from Japan or Shin Issei since the end of World War II.

Little Tokyo Service Center which has sending case workers and staffs to South Bay area in last 20 years for English speaking Japanese Americans and Japanese speaking Shin Issei, has opened a permanent space at a building of the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute since the winter of 2015.
 
On Feb. 19, 2016, the open house of the Little Tokyo Service Center South Bay Office was held. Cultural News Video shows remarks by Dean Matsubayashi, Executive Director of LTSC, and Amy Phillips, Senior Service Director of LTSC.
 
LTSC South Bay Office is located at 2nd floor of the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute, 1964 West 162nd Street, Gardena, CA 90274.
 
Three Japanese-speaking staff are assigned to the South Bay Office.

Office walk-in hours: Thursday, 10 am - 12 pm.
 
From March 1, 2016
Office walk-in hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 10 am - 12 pm.

Cultural News' Mission: to introduce the best of Japanese art exhibitions and cultural events to the public in Los Angeles

The standard budget of the Cultural News operation in past five years is $35,000 annually. The standard annual revenue consists of subscriptions for $15,000, advertisements for $10,000, and donations for $10,000.
 
In order to ensure publishing the monthly paper in 2015-2017, Cultural News seeks the donation of $30,000 by March 31, 2016.
 
As of Feb. 16, Cultural News has received $24,475 donation from supporters of Cultural News since January 2015. These supports enable Cultural News to continue publishing in coming years.
