New Year's Day means special to Japanese, Jan 1

On Friday, Jan 1, Koyasan Buddhist Temple in Little Tokyo temple will accept visitors for the first pray of the New Year from 10 am through 5 pm, and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce will present "Oshogatsu in Little Tokyo" event from 11 am - 3 pm.

On Sunday, Jan. 3, the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center will present cultural performance "Kotohajime" at 1 pm at Aratani Theatre, and the Japanese American National Museum will present all day free "Oshogatsu Family Festival" from 11 am - 5 pm.
