Workshop to be held for Japanese language teachers at USC, Nov 1
Teachers of Japanese in Southern California (TJSC) will present the Fall 2015 Workshop at USC, Taper Hall of Humanities Room # 202 (3501 Trousdale Parkway USC Los Angeles, CA 90089), from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday,November 1, 2015.
Our keynote speakers will be: Dr. Hiroko Kataoka, Dr. Masako Douglas, and Dr. Kiyomi Chinen of California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Eiko Ushida and Dr. Junko Tokuda of the University of California, San Diego.
The topic is about an online textbook "Monty's Bridge to Tomorrow" from The Alaska Project.
By looking at the content from the students' perspective, we will examine how the material can be applied to Japanese language education.
There will also be presentations of lessons by the teachers of Orange Coast Gakuen.
Pre-registration fee for the workshop is $8 for members and late registration fee for members is $10, and non-members $30.
TJSC is a non-profit organization in Southern California and is comprised of individuals who are either a teacher in an organization or academic institution teaching various levels of Japanese, a student of the Japanese language, and/or an individual who is interested in Japanese language or culture education.
