World music blended with Koto concert at La Vern University, Step. 20
|
Koto musician Yukiko Matsuyama will bring her world music group, the Koto Yuki Band to the Morgan Auditorium in the University of La Verne on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 6:00 pm. Suggested donations are $20 per person.
Ann & Steve Morgan Auditorium is located at Second floor, FH#104, 1950 Third Street, La Verne, CA 91750.

The Japanese koto and shamisen blend beautifully with the western bass,
piano and drums in this "East Meets West" program.
International recording artist Yukiko Matsuyama bridges eras and cultures. Her Koto Yuki Band featuring Diana Dentino on piano, Elizabeth Hangan on vocals & bass, and Mike Bennett on drums & percussion will be joined by special guest Mike Penny on the shamisen.
Together they will blend influences from African, Latin America, American Blues, and World Pop with the colors and textures of Japan.
