Nisei Week: Light sculpture "Nebuta" floats are ready to parade on Aug 16

Light sculpture "Nebuta" float with the name of "Yoshitsune Crossing Tsugaru Strait" was lighted up following the ceremony of embedding a sprit in the Nabuta sculpture on August 13 at the Aomori Kenjin Kai Hall in Little Tokyo.
 
"Yoshitsune Crossing Tsugaru Strait" float itself is 20 ft wide x 30 ft long x 25 ft high.
 
Beside "Yoshitsune," "Archer Nasu no Yoichi" Nebuta also lighted up.
 
On Sunday, Aug. 16, the first unit of the the Nisei Week Grand Parade will start at 5:30 pm. And the Nebuta floats will be the last in the parade, and the Nebuta floats will move around 8 pm.
 
Nebutabayashi Hozonkai is seeking dancers or Haneto with nebuta and pushers for nebuta floats. Donations are also needed to continue nebuta in the Nisei Week. For more information, visit lanebuta.com.
