Full Steam Ahead!

Dear ,

We are moving full steam ahead here at CIO. Growing in staff, clients, technologies, you name it. And we don't plan on stopping any time soon. We truly believe that we have found our 'magic recipe'. By expanding our technological horizons, bringing on the best and brightest and continuing to establish relationships with new clients the sky is the limit.

Our newest additions to the team have been two engineering resources (Dat Nguyen and Greg Goulart) and our first Service Coordinator (Michelle Baca). We are thrilled to have them on our team. Dat and Greg are going to be working with Central Support helping with First Call Resolution and Projects. Michelle is helping us define the new (to us) role of a dedicated scheduler and coordinator.

We often find the that best candidates are referred to us by our employees, friends and/or clients. If you have anyone that you think would be a good fit for CIO Solutions please have them send their resume to [email protected].

Onwards and upwards!

Cheers,
John Petote
CEO, CIO Solutions

Check with the Tech: Shutdown Option in Windows 8
Check with the Tech
Q: I can't easily find the shutdown tile, is there a simple way to add this to my home Start screen?

A:
Yes! When you're in Windows 8's full-screen mode, you have to go through four annoying clicks or taps to shut down your computer. This shortcut fixes that annoyance by placing a one-click (or one-tap) tile in the Start screen.

1. Head to the Desktop mode by pressing Windows+D or clicking the Desktop tile.
2. Right-click on an open space on the desktop and go to New > Shortcut.
3. In the location field, type shutdown /p and the click Next, then Finish.
4. Right-click on the new shortcut and choose Pin to Start.

If you like, you can also create a reboot tile using shutdown /r /t 0 (zero, not the letter 'o')

Windows 8 comes with a number of annoyances, but many of them, like this, are easy enough to fix.
