Voting in Phase 2 of the Egyptian Parliamentary Elections By Egyptians Living Abroad
Egyptians living abroad can vote at Egyptian consulates in phase 2 of the Parliamentary elections on Saturday and Sunday November 21-22, 2015 (9:00 AM to 9:00 PM). Voting for Runoff elections, if needed for some districts, will be held Monday November 30 and Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
Voting for phase 2 of the parliamentary elections is only for residents of the following 13 provinces: Cairo, Qalyoubeya, Daqahleya, Menoufeya, Gharbeya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqeya, Demyat, Port Said, Ismailya, Suez, North Sinai, South Sinai.
An eligible voter will vote for 1, 2 or 3 candidates فردى (depending on the size of the voting district) also for a list قائمة covering several provinces.
An Egyptian living abroad can vote in the Phase 2 parliamentary elections provided he/she:
is registered in the records of the Election Committee. You can check that by clicking on Election Records
carries Raqam Qawmi ID, or a passport that includes the Rakam Qawmi, showing an address in any of the 13 provinces listed above
completes the foreign residency form shown below and and carries an ID showing his/her address abroad (e.g., a driver license)
votes in person at an Egyptian consulate. See letter from the Egyptian Consulate in LA below.
The EAS Christmas / New Year's Party will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Foster City. Details will follow in a future newsletter. We look forward to seeing you and your family.
