The Egyptian Consulate in Los Angeles had made arrangements to have a team from the Egyptian Civil Records Agency  مصلحة الأحوال المدنية  to come to Los Angeles to process Rakam Kawmi applications for Egyptians living in the Western USA.   The visiting team will be in Los Angeles during the period of March 12-16.  The fee for a Rakam Kawmi application is $75.  See the latest correspondence from the consulate below.

We have asked the Egyptian Consulate to arrange that the visiting official team come to the Bay Area for one day, most likely March 17, to process Rakam Kawmi applications for Egyptians living in the San Francisco Area on the basis that Bay Area applicants will pay, in addition to the $75 fees, for the cost of lodging the visiting team and the cost of their travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco.  The consulate is supporting our request and conveyed it to Cairo. They did not receive confirmation yet. We will convey to you any development as soon as we learn it.
