New Year and Christmas Celebration

 

Dear EAS Members and Friends,

  

You are cordially invited to join us in a dinner party celebrating the New Year and Christmas.   The celebration will include a three course dinner and entertainment.

Ticket prices are $60 per person for those who paid their membership dues, $70 for others.

Registration for Upcoming Egyptian Elections
Deadline is December 2, 2013 

 

 

      

If you have successfully registered to vote in Egyptian Elections before and obtained a registration code, no further action is needed on your part at this time.  You can use the same code in upcoming voting.    

 

If your US data has changed from the time you last registered, you can log in and update your data. 

 

If you misplaced your code and would like to retrieve it, you can log in as if you are changing some of your data (you actually need not change anything) you will get your code.

 

Use can use the same steps to register for the first time.  

 

You must have a valid Egyptian national ID card  (رقم قومى) to be able to go through this registration process

Here is a summary of the registration steps as we understood it and followed:

  • Go to the Egyptian elections website  http://www.elections.eg    .   

  • Click on the "Egyptians Abroad" (المصريون بالخارج)  tab         
  • From the drop down menu select "Registration" (التسجيل)             
  • Scroll down the page until you find "Validate Your ID Number"                 (تحقق من رقمك)          
  • Enter your ID number and click "تحقق"           
  • If you provided a valid ID number, you will get "Number is Valid" message  (الرقم موجود)  or if you registered before you will see: "الرقم القومى مسجل من قبل "
  • On the same page you will be asked to enter your mother's first name in order to change your data "لتعديل بياناتك ادخل اسم الام " , after you enter the name click continue "استمرار "  
  • If you have entered a valid ID number, you will get a message indicating so "الرقم ١١١١١١١١١١١١١١ موجود "
  • Scroll down and click "لتعديل المقر الانتخابى بالخارج "; this will take you to a page where you will see any personal data that you have entered before, change any fields as necessary and make sure that all fields with ans asterisk (*) are filled.  Also make sure to check the box asserting that all data that you provided are accurate.  "أقر بأن  جميع البيانات التى أدليت بها فى هذا النموذج حقيقية و ليس بها أى تلاعب و أنى على كامل بنصوص القانون "          
  • Then copy the security code that is provided in the box below.  
  • If successful you will get a message that you successfully changed your data "تم تحديث بياناتك بنجاح " and giving you your personal voting registration code "رقم التسجيل الخاص بك هو  XXXXXXXXX " that you will use at voting time.

EAS Executive Committee Elections 
and What Defines an EAS Active Member?

The EAS Bylaws call for election of an EAS Executive Committee before the end of February 2014.

According to the EAS Bylaws, only EAS Members who have been
active members for at least 60 days can run for office.  Only active mebers can vote.
 
The EAS Bylaws define an Active Member as a member who paid the annual membership dues and has participated in at least one EAS activity during the previous 12 months. 

The EAS is your organization and we urge all of you to become active members.   We welcome your suggestions and help in arranging EAS events; we look forward to hearing from you.  Also remember that active members enjoy discounts to some EAS events.

 

As a reminder, the 2013 membership dues are now overdue: $15 per person or $30 per couple.
